Another week, another golf course played. I’m not sure I know of a more pleasant golf course community than Rosedale Golf & Country Club. The drive in under a canopy of mature trees is a perfect introduction to the community and the clubhouse. Beautifully cared for and meticulously maintained, this a very picturesque and challenging course. I was matched with a threesome from Michigan for a Friday afternoon t-time. Including cart and tax…only $49 through the internet. Five sets of tees await…I played the blues that stretched the course to a manageable 6,337 yards. The golds at 6,714 yards would present a real challenge as there would be a number of very narrow t-shots. The average player might best be suited to play from the whites…at a more modest 5,882 yards.

The green fees include full use of excellent practice facilities. A grass driving range, two practice putting greens and a chipping, pitching and bunker area. I found the back nine more interesting…and more difficult. Off of I75 and State Road 70, the golf course separates the road noise from the community. Speaking of the community………

This is predominantly a neighborhood of 2 bedroom, 2 bath villas…but very affordable. In the last 6 months, 15 homes have changed hands. The average sale price has been $262,800 for a 1900 square foot villa. Plenty of lake and golf course views to be had. Many villas have private pools. If you have a bigger home in mind, 3 bedroom 3 bath single family homes run from the mid $300’s to the high $600’s. With such a terrific semi-private golf course in your back yard, Rosedale is a perfect second home choice for the snow bird. A very active social scene as well.
