Played Venice G&C yesterday. Shot an 80 with a triple. Ouch. Always one of my favorites, this course was in lush condition and the greens firm and fast. In fact, my foursome considers this one of the top two reciprocals that we are allowed to enjoy from May to October. The course was totally redone in 2005 and a clubhouse renovation is planned for the summer of 2012. No assessments for the work are planned.

      This is a debt-free, member owned and governed club. In fact, one must own one of the communities 587 single family dwellings in order to be a member. Equity membership comes in three forms…Social, Recreational and Golf. Equity currently stands at $7000 with an initiation fee of $2,310. Due’s of $3,144 include reserves, house charges and a dining room surcharge. One does not have to be a member if they are a homeowner, but they do have to obtain a requisite Social membership.

     Built in the early to mid 90’s, most homes in this gated community are 3 bedrooms with 2 baths. They enjoy either golf course, lake or preserve views. Rarely are more than 5% of the homes for sale at any given time.
